Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Fill each muffin liner halfway with batter, add a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture, then top with more batter.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
