2 cups water 1 tbsp fresh ginger sliced 1 tsp ground turmeric or 1 tbsp fresh turmeric, grated 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed 1 tbsp honey or to taste 1/8 tsp black pepper enhances turmeric absorption 1 stick cinnamon optional
Add water, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon stick (if using) to a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain into mugs.
Stir in lemon juice and honey to each cup. Mix well and serve warm.
Storage: Store leftover brew in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat as needed.
