Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe jackfruit seeds removed, sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil if baking
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying, if using the frying method
  • 0.5 tsp salt optional

Instructions

  • Peel and remove the seeds from the jackfruit. Slice each piece into thin strips.
  • Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Toss the jackfruit slices with coconut oil and spread them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crisp and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the jackfruit slices in small batches.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle with salt (if using) and allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Customization: Sprinkle with cinnamon or chili powder for added flavor.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • Serving Tip: Enjoy as a snack on its own or with yogurt and dips.
