Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole milk or any milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp sugar or to taste
  • 10-12 strands saffron soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk
  • 0.25 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tbsp chopped nuts almonds, pistachios, optional for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, add milk and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Do not boil.
  • Stir in the sugar, saffron with its soaked milk, and cardamom. Whisk well to combine.
  • Let the milk simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes, allowing the saffron to infuse and the milk to slightly thicken.
  • Pour the saffron milk into serving cups and garnish with chopped nuts if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Optional Equipment: A small strainer can be used to remove cardamom bits if whole pods are used.
  • Customization: Add a pinch of turmeric for a golden milk variation.
  • Storage: Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently before serving.
