1/2 cup unsalted butter melted 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar packed 2 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup sourdough discard unfed 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional, for extra richness
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
