- 5 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whipped cream for topping, optional
Arrange 4 cups of fresh strawberries in the pre-baked pie crust and set aside.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth.
