Prime Food Processing LLC has voluntarily recalled two popular frozen dessert buns, Lava Bun with Salted Egg Yolk and Lava Bun with Green Tea Flavor, due to an undeclared milk allergen. The recall was initiated after an internal review found that milk from unsalted butter was omitted from the “Contains” allergen statement. The FDA warns that consumption poses a “serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” risk for individuals with milk allergies or severe sensitivities. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall applies to two products: Lava Bun with Salted Egg Yolk (bright orange packaging, UPC 97903705873) and Lava Bun with Green Tea Flavor (lime green packaging, UPC 97803705883). Both are sold in 24 oz pouches and share the same lot codes (25092–25318) and expiration dates (July 2026–March 2027). Consumers are urged to check the UPC, lot code, and expiration date on the packaging.

Health Risks Associated with Undeclared Milk Allergens
Milk is one of the nine major food allergens recognized by U.S. food safety law. Undeclared milk allergens can cause hives, nausea, vomiting, swelling, breathing difficulties, or anaphylaxis, especially in individuals with known allergies. The FDA emphasizes that even small amounts of undeclared milk can trigger severe reactions.
